Eucharist

The Catholic Eucharist is the sacrament where Catholics believe the body and                                                                                    blood of Jesus Christ are truly present in the consecrated bread and wine, a belief known as the Real Presence. It is also called Holy Communion and Holy Mass, and is central to Catholic worship as both a sacrifice of thanksgiving for Christ’s sacrifice on the cross and a banquet where the faithful receive Jesus’s divine presence, strengthening their unity with Christ and each other.
